Relics that are claimed to be the Holy Nails with which Jesus was Crucified are objects of veneration among some Christians, particularly Roman Catholics and the Eastern Orthodox. It is not clear whether Christ was Crucified with 3 or 4 Nails. The belief that 3 Nails were used is called Triclavianism. Helena, the mother of Constantine the Great, discovered the True Cross and Many other Relics in Jerusalem in the 4th century AD. She resided in Trier, Germany at this time and gave the church many Artifacts including the Holy Nail. In the late 10th century, under archbishop Egbert Fabulous Reliquaries for these Relics were created. To this day the items remain inside the Trier Cathedral Treasury. The museum is owned by the Roman Catholic Church and is located inside the Cathedral of Trier. It is considered to be the Holiest Site for Christians in the World, as it has been the most important Pilgrimage Site for Christianity since the fourth century.
